Robert Afra, MD is an orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship Alexandra Bunyak, M.D., is a non-operative sports, spine, and arthritis physician who is board certified in four separate fields: sports medicine, physical medicine & rehabilitation, pain medicine, and holistic medicine. She is able to utilize these areas of expertise to provide an integrative approach to the nonoperative management of various orthopaedic/musculoskeletal problems. In practice since 2002, Dr. Bunyak previously served as the lead physiatrist for a large California orthopaedic practice and was the Chief of the PM&R department at Kaiser Permanente in Fremont, CA, where she founded the interventional spine care and pelvic floor rehabilitation programs. She studied fine arts as an undergraduate at Yale University. Dr Bunyak attended the prestigious University of Pennsylvania Medical School. She trained in physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Northwestern University. She was an NIH research scholar, conducting cutting edge investigations in the field of nerve regeneration. Dr. Bunyak is a team physician for the San Diego Flash soccer team. She has served as physician for other major marathon, martial arts, and performing arts events. She is currently a physician for Project Walk.
