Foot & Ankle

Foot and ankle pain is a common. In fact, most patients ignore this discomfort until they become dysfunctional and are no longer able to participate in activities that are important to them or merely walk. Almost 80% of the population will experience foot pain in their lives.

At AOSM, we believe that no one should have to live with pain in their feet. We recognize the importance of alleviating the patient’s foot pain so that they can ambulate pain-free or participate in important activities. We are trained and equipped to diagnose and treat all problems involving the foot and ankle. We treat people of all ages from all walks of life for foot/ankle problems. Some of the more common pain sources that are seen are plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, bunions, as well as serious injuries and disorders.

Many foot/ankle problems can be appropriately improved with a conservative treatment plan (ie, medication, correctional orthotic devices, physical therapy). For patients with conditions that fail to respond to conservative care or more involved foot/ankle problems, surgical intervention such as arthroscopic surgery may be necessary. Based on the individual patient’s goals and pain sources, the AOSM specialist will create an appropriate and comprehensive treatment plan which is right for you. Our compassionate staff will help you through every step of your treatment, whether it be orthotic therapy or corrective surgery.
Foot and ankle surgery includes the treatment of fractures, repair of tendon injuries, correction of deformities, management of ankle instability and bone/cartilage injuries from sports-related accidents, and comprehensive management of heel pain. Our goal is to relieve our patients’ foot/ankle pain and return them to their normal level of function and everyday activities, based on their individualized goals.

If you have been told that you ‘need’ surgery, we invite you to chat with our specialists to see if there may be alternatives that are as equally or more effective in relieving your pain.
